I love summer! I love everything about it!! I was raised by parents who loved the water. My father the sailor and my mother the sun worshipper raised three children who embrace the sand, salt, and sea. I’m married to a man who MAY even love the beach more than I. He however was raised on glorious fresh water on a Great Lake.

The other night we were delightfully ditched by our twenty year old daughter in Charleston and had a wonderful dinner together at the Ordinary. We sat at the bar and drank fun cocktails and mocktails and had a raw bar feast. I had grabbed the hotel pad and pen as we left The Mill House and brought it with me. Together we made a list of the things we want to do in Vermont this summer.

Here is our Vermont wish list and yes… I know… Vermont is far from the beach!! Our beach list will come next!

Something special with our oldest daughter before she moves to Canada.
Visit Johnny Seesaws, an old Vermont favorite that has been fully renovated.
Have dinner in Londonderry at SOLO. We have yet to make the drive over the mountain to get to this spot which gets rave reviews.
Go see Rudyard Kiplings house and bring our youngest who loves The Jungle Book.

I want to make ravioli with the pasta machine I bought after taking a cooking lesson in Lucca, Italy last summer.
Donald promises to make me a soufflé'. He wooed me with this skill when we were dating and I haven’t seen once since! (other than in our favorite restaurant in Paris!)
I want to volunteer for programs that feed hungry Vermonters.
We want to perfect Swedish Cream, a desert my mother in law used to make. I tried it once after her passing and it was a disaster.

Take a picnic to the top of Mt. Equinox
Buy tickets to the Dorset Theatre Festival. I saw they have a play on Agatha Christi I plan on going to!
Visit the peony garden at Hildene, the Lincoln family home in Manchester
Go see Farm Ballet, where the ballet dancers are dressed as VEGETABLES!
